Easier access for workforce from EU-countries

Since 2014 new regulations came into force regarding employees from EU countries.

EU-citizens who come to work with a pre-approved employer can start working immediately on these conditions:

1. The employer must hold a valid pre-approval, issued by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration. The employer applies by using the form FO/AR7 (only in Danish). For extensions of their pre-approval employers should use the same form again.

2. The employee must have been offered a job of at least 30 hours per week.

3. The employee can start working on the condition that a certain form, FO/AR8, has been completed and handed to the Police on his/her first day of work. For extensions the same form should be used if the employee continues with the same employer.

If an EU-citizen is promised work with an employer who is not pre-approved, he/she can apply with the form FO/AR9. In such cases the applicant must not enter the Faroes and start to work until a formal permit has been issued by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration.
