Other attachment requirements

Foreign nationals with close family relations or similar attachment to a resident in the Faroe Islands may, conditioned by special circumstances, be granted  family reunification.
 
Examples:
 
a) Fostered child or adopted child
b) Parent of a person, resident in the Faroe Islands, who is not a Danish or a Nordic citizen.
c) Family member who has previously stayed with a resident in the Faroe Islands but now depends on others, needs care/boarding from the person with whom he/she wants to be reunited, and can not support himself/herself is the home country.
 
Each case will be considered individually and is conditioned by very strong attachment that goes further than ordinary family relationship.
 
Housing requirements:  
The resident in the Faroe Islands, with whom the applicant wants to be reunited, must have accommodation of adequate size at his/her disposal, and may have to prove it.
