New Requirement for Accompanying Family Members

On 2 September 2023, a new requirement for supporting accompanying family members was introduced. This means that the work permit holder whose family is applying as accompanying family members needs to document that he/she has a certain minimum income and can support the family. This requirement applies to all first-time applications submitted on or after 2 September 2023 for a permit as an accompanying family member to a work permit holder in the Faroe Islands. Therefore, it does not apply to applications submitted before 2 September 2023.

The rule does not apply if the permit is granted under the Sports Agreement.
